Gerald B. Haley (Jerry), 83, of Schertz, Texas, went peacefully to be with our Lord on July 16, 2025. Jerry was born in 1942 in Bisbee, Arizona to Isabel and Elisha Haley. After high school he joined the Navy in 1960 and served his country for 4 years. In those 4 years he served as a Petty Officer 3rd Class on The USS Constellation - 1961, The USS Independence - 1962, The USS Lexington - 1962, and The USS Shangri-la - 1963 to 1964.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, papa and brother. Jerry was the son of the late Elisha B. Haley and Isabel Crocker. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dennis Haley and brother, Randy Crocker.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Alicia Haley and his beloved fur baby, Chulita; sister, Marilyn and husband Constantino Costella; daughters, Lori Kroeger, Cheryl Scruggs and husband Jeff Scruggs, Alicia Munguia and husband Andrew Munguia; sons, Ronnie Haley and wife Sonya Haley, Jeronimo Marin and wife Julie Marin; grandchildren, Savannah Haley, Sammie Scruggs, Payne Scruggs, Jeronimo Marin IV, Christian Fitzgerald, Victoria Marin, Michael Scott, and great grandson, Jeronimo Marin V. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jerry worked for years as a technician installing security cameras on the border's bridges and bank alarms. Jerry was a coach for girls softball for BVYA, he coached his daughters Lori and Cheryl. He loved all of the girls on his team and they loved him. He loved backing the Buffs and watching his grandson, Jeronimo, go to State Quarter Finals with his team.
Jerry loved fishing and once a year the family would take a trip to Rockport. The ladies at the library enjoyed having him volunteer. He loved reading! He gave up some of his time to help with elections.
Jerry had quite a sense of humor. He loved people and loved his family dearly. He was soft spoken and had a heart of gold. He would give you his last penny if you needed. He was always helping people.
