Georzena “Jing” Aurea Wycoco-Bascos, age 64, passed away in her home on February 7th, 2026. Jing was born on March 11, 1961 in the Philippine province of Isabela in the City of Santiago.
Jing was a graduate of La Salette of Santiago High School in 1977 and studied at Manila Philippine Women’s University where she earned a degree in International Business in 1981. In 1990, she moved to California with only $200 in her pocket while overlooking the shipment of Philippine goods to the US. There, she met Neil, her husband of 32 years and navy sailor, with whom she had two children. They lived around the world as a military family and after 20 years of service her husband retired from the navy, she and her family settled in Texas to start a new chapter in their lives. Her children were the center of her world and she was so proud to be the mother of a nurse and biomedical engineer.
Jing was an avid mountaineer (who scaled Mt. Banahaw among others), dancer, singer, photographer, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where she was a cherished member of the choir. She also enjoyed traveling with her family and in her last 5 years of life visited nearly 20 countries and over 40 cities. She was able to fulfill her dream of traveling to major sites such as the Camino de Santiago, the Pyramids of Giza, the Taj Mahal, and riding in a hot air balloon over Cappadocia, Turkey.
Jing is survived by her husband, Neil; daughter, Georjeanne; son Gregg Neal and his wife, Makayla; her granddaughter (and namesake) Daisy Elaine Aurea; her siblings, Emmanuel, Monette, and Suzette; her nephew, Kevin; and her nieces, Kristine, Zia, and Katherine. She also leaves behind numerous friends and extended family members that will miss her dearly. Jing joins her parents, Gregorio and Zenaida, and her brother, Winston, in heaven.
