George Michael “Mike” Richards, 48, passed away suddenly on November 4, 2025, from a heart attack at his home in Cibolo, Texas. His passing was unexpected and leaves a deep void in the lives of all who knew and loved him.

Mike was born in South Korea to George D. Richards and Ok Sun Pak. He spent his childhood growing up in Maryland and later lived in various locations along the East Coast after joining the United States Army.

Mike proudly served nearly seven years in the United States Army as an Army Medic, a role that perfectly reflected his quiet compassion and instinct to help others. He took great pride in his service and the responsibility entrusted to him. During his time in the Army, he earned numerous honors, including the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal, and Iraq Campaign Medal. These awards represent not only his dedication and professionalism, but also his willingness to put others before himself.

To those who knew him best, Mike was more than a soldier—he was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. A constant and reassuring presence, especially in the lives of his youngest nieces. He is survived by his half-sisters, Cynthia Richards and Grace Kim, and by his three nieces and two nephews, who will forever remember their Uncle Mike for his care, his strength, and the love he showed in his own unique way.

Mike was someone you could count on. He didn’t seek attention or praise, but he showed up—consistently, loyally, and with sincerity. He will be deeply missed and always remembered by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
