Gary Dwayne Wilson was born in Abilene, Texas on October 15, 1949, and died from this life as we know it, on December 25, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, C.E. and Laura E. Wilson, and a sister, Sharon (Wilson) Forney. He leaves behind a daughter who is exceptionally challenged. Gary was a Veteran having served his country in the United States Army, entering military service in February 1972 and subsequently honorably discharged, February 18, 1976. He served during the Vietnam Conflict, a time of distinction and debate in our nation’s history.
During his military service, Gary earned the National Defense Service Medal; Good Conduct Medal; and Marksman Badge. He was a high school graduate and following his tenure in the Army was employed in a variety of capacities until he was classified by our nation’s Social Security Administration as disabled, a condition in which he remained during the last 30 years of his life.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
