, age 90, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on November 12, 2017. He was born on December 20, 1926 in Boston, MA, to Clarence and Dorothy

. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary; his sister Barbara Winters, and his children, Cathy Slate (Chris), Scott

(Suzanne), Gregg

(Debra) and Mark
Timmons
(Jo Ann), 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Fred served in the United States Air Force for over 26 years and was awarded numerous medals--including the Bronze Star. After Fred retired from the United States Air Force, he had a successful real estate career. Fred was devoted to his family, a lover of classical music, and always available for a game of chess. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 9:00 am at the
Schertz
Funeral Home followed by a graveside ceremony with full military honors at 10:45 am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
