Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Mr. Frazier Mackey, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 23, 2023.  He was born in Lanett, Alabama on July 28, 1936, to the late Abe and Donnie Mackey.  Frazier was their youngest and the last living of eleven children.

Frazier accepted Christ at an early age while attending Ebenezer Baptist Church, Lanett, Alabama.  Much later in his life, Frazier became an ordained Deacon and was instrumental in chartering two churches (Vacaville, CA and Pahrump, NV) in the service of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In 1954, he married Dessa E. Harris Mackey (deceased) and of that union five children were born.

In 1955, Frazier was drafted into the United States Air Force at Westover Air Force Base, Massachusetts and served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars.  He served honorably for 20 years and was awarded the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart of Valor.  Frazier and his family lived and traveled to many states including several tours overseas throughout the years.  After retiring from the Armed Forces at the rank of Technical Sergeant, Frazier joined the ranks of the Federal Civil Service, working for the Small Business Administration until retiring again.

His favorite past time was restoring old cars and playing golf with his military buddies.

In 1995, he married Lorine Royster and added three step children to his family.

Frazier was preceded in death by his only son, Jeffrey J. Mackey and grandson, Kellen J. Mackey; six sisters, Annie Boyd, Mildred Barber, Mae Emma Leverett, Anna Edwards, Idella Jones and Essie Winston; four brothers, Harvey, Hayward, Wilson and Jimmy Mackey.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lorine Mackey, Selma, TX; his four daughters Constance L. Mackey, Locust Grove, GA; Glenda Faye Mackey Turner, McDonough, GA; Donna Cassandra (Nathaniel) Mackey-Pollard, Columbus, GA; Theresa Mishael Mackey, Sacramento, CA; stepchildren Michele L. Royster, Schertz, TX; Felicia A. Royster, Selma, TX; and James W. Royster, Georgetown, TX; twenty grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
