F.J. “Mike” Liedka III, passed away with family by his side on January 9, 2021 at the age of 77. Mike was born on April 1, 1943 in Syracuse, N.Y. to Francis Joseph Liedka, Jr. and Hazel Liedka. He graduated from North Syracuse High School in 1961 and enlisted into the US Army as a medic. He married Loretta Barnholtz in 1964 and went to work at Barkel Manufacturing Company. After retiring, he embarked on many adventures including furniture wholesale, MAC tools and repairing air tools. Most recently he partnered in a spa cover company. Mike was part of the Masonic Lodge #1079 and went on to become a Alzafar Shriner. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Loretta and his children: Son, Blake Liedka (Stephanie), Daughters, Tracey Hechler (James) and Jennifer Smith (Travis). He is also survived by his six grandchildren: Cassandra, Elizabeth, Jay, Joey, Rebecca and Rachel; six great grandchildren, two sisters, three brothers, close friend and business partner, David Smith, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 1:00PM-3:00PM at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel.
