Ever Gloss DuBoise

August 26, 1948 — July 24, 2025

Cibolo, Texas

Ever Gloss DuBoise-Brinker was born on August 26, 1948, and peacefully went to be with the Lord on July 24, 2025, at the age of 76.

Ever was born to J.C. and Pearline Brinker in Colt, Arkansas. She gave her life to Christ at a young age. After her father’s passing, her mother and sister, Rubie, moved to Detroit, Michigan. At age 16, the three moved to Los Angeles, CA, where she graduated from Fremont High School. They also became members of Main Street Church of Christ, which was later renamed Imperial Church of Christ, where she met and later married William DuBoise. Together, they raised three daughters—Lynette, Aretha, and Emily.

Ever was active in her church, faithfully serving in several ministries. She worked as a Preschool Sunday School Teacher and Church Secretary at Main Street Church of Christ in Los Angeles. Her heart for children led her to work as a Head Start teacher. She later worked for the US Postal Service, the California State Employment Office, and the California State Workers’ Compensation Insurance Office.

In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Ever deeply valued higher education and entrepreneurship. She earned an Associate’s Degree from Southwest College and later pursued credits toward her bachelor’s degree. A true entrepreneur at heart, she operated several businesses over the years—including income tax preparation, assisting small businesses in obtaining their 501(c)(3) status, and, later in life, jewelry making.

Ever moved to San Antonio with her daughter, Lynette, son-in-law, Jeff, and their two children in January 2008. She became a member of Northside Church of Christ and the Freeman Life Group. She attended faithfully until a decline in her physical health made it too difficult for her to be present. She spent her latter years at Advanced Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, where she enjoyed playing dominoes, bingo, or making jewelry for family and friends. She was well-liked by the staff and was visited often by family, church members, and close friends.

Although Ever faced many challenges with mental illness and later physical ailments, she persevered with remarkable strength and unwavering faith. She will be remembered most for her infectious humor, sharp wit, and boundless love for her family and friends—a love she often expressed by saying, “Love you more than you know, to the moon and back.” That’s just how far her love reached.

She will be remembered—forever.

Ever leaves to cherish her memory the Love of her Life, William DuBoise, her three daughters, Lynette Kennedy (Jeff), Aretha DuBoise-Smith, and Emily McKnight (Devin); eight grandchildren: De’Janae, Adrienne (Jorge), Melodie, Andrew, Emani (Julian), Kennedy, Devin, and Eden Joy; and two great-grandchildren, Gabrielle and Mila. She also leaves her two nephews, Danyell Means (Candice) and Kelvin Means (Dana), along with a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Pearline Brinker, and her sister, Rubie Joy.

The family of Ever DuBoise-Brinker sincerely thanks everyone for your prayers and support during this time. A special thank you to Northside Church of Christ, Dr. Solomon Paley, Advanced Healthcare and Rehab, Three Oaks Hospice, and Schertz Funeral Home for their care and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Disability Resources, Incorporated (DRI) or Southwestern Christian College.
