Evelyn was the daughter of Clifford Elvin Schrimp, Mom was born on January 22,1938 in Medicine Lodge, KS.
She passed from this life on April 28, 2026 at the age of 88, with her final breath, she transitioned gracefully, opening her eyes to the glorious and eternal embrace of our Lord Jesus Christ at home in Schertz, TX.
She attended Medicine Lodge High School. Mom went on to a career in food service and she was a great waitress and graduated with honors. While Dad was stationed in Germany Mom worked for Family Service. I think it was her way to connect to the people back home. They were blessed with four children, Debra, Michael, Shirley and James. Two Granddaughters Chelsea and Crystal.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her Father, Clifford Schrimp in 1952. Husband, Ed Craig in 2006 and Son, Mike Craig in 2018. Siblings, James Clifford Schrimp in 1994, Nellie Edith Williams in 2016 Charles Ray Stacy in 1991, Jane Withers in 2007, and Ruby Katherine Lee in 2024.
Evelyn is survived by three of her children; Debra Sue & Alan Dale Reed of Seguin, TX, Shirley Ann Craig of Bellevue, NE and James Franklin Craig of Omaha, NE. Two Granddaughters Chelsea Darlene & Kyle Bailey, and Crystal Anne Kiley both of Bellevue, NE. One Great Grandson Silas Edward Bailey of Bellevue, NE. Siblings Marjorie Faye Broyles, Ellen Elvina Watson, George Franklin Schrimp and Johnny Sullivan. Two sisters in love, Barbara White and Dotty and Bill Copeland. The Greatest of Uncles Paul Lyle Lee Martin of Wichita, KS and Billy Jack Martin of Liberal, KS. Thousands upon Hundreds of Thousands of Cousins, Second and Third Cousins twice removed and all that jazz. Hundreds of Nieces and Nephews and their kids. Which Mom truly love and adores and will always. No past tense on this statement.
Evelyn was a mother to all. One phone call and no matter what was happening in her young life or later years. Mom was like an 18-wheeler she was rolling down the highway coast to coast taking care of business to save someone no matter how far she had to go.
