Euna Maude Harrell December 4, 1934 – September 13, 2026

Euna Maude Harrell, 91, of Schertz, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on September 13, 2026.

Born on December 4, 1934, in Gilmer, Texas, to Samuel Lester Webb and Willie Maude Webb, Euna grew up in Longview, Texas. She met the love of her life, Norman David Harrell, when he delivered milk to her family’s home. The two married in 1951, beginning a devoted union that would span 73 years. In 1958, Euna and Norman settled in Schertz, Texas, where they would call home for the rest of their lives.

She was a devout Christian and a faithful member of Schertz United Methodist Church for nearly seven decades, finding strength, purpose, and community in her church family.

Euna worked professionally as a dental assistant and gave countless additional hours as a selfless volunteer in her community. As a military wife, she built a loving and stable home through years of service and change. She had a true servant’s heart, and those who knew her remember her devotion as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great‑grandmother above all else. Her gentle spirit and warm nature made friends wherever she went.

In her quieter moments, Euna found joy in tending her garden—digging in the dirt was one of her simple pleasures—and sitting on her porch swing, where she loved feeding the birds that visited her yard.

Euna was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 73 years, Norman David Harrell; her daughter, Donna Lynn Alexander; her grandson, Christopher Allen Sonnenburg; and her parents.

She is survived by her children, Norma Gale Beck and Brian Ray Harrell; her grandchildren, Joshua Alexander, David Beck, Lori Lee Gilbert, Corey Earl Harrell, and Jacob Lawrence Harrell; and her great‑grandchildren, Gwyn Odom, Aspen Laurel Beck, Aubri Lee Gilbert, and Isla Jo Harrell.

Visitation will be held on October 1, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Schertz Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow on October 2, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at Schertz United Methodist Church, with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Schertz United Methodist Church Food Pantry.
