December 23, 2025
Eric Matthew Vasquez, 38, of Universal City, Texas went to live in eternity with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 23, 2025. Eric was born in San Antonio, Texas on February 4, 1987. Eric graduated from Judson High School in 2005 and attended St. Philip’s College in San Antonio on a scholarship, where he received an associate degree in Collision/Refinishing Technology. Eric worked numerous jobs throughout his life and at the time of his death was employed by Major Wire, a manufacturer of screening media for the mining and aggregate industries.
Eric enjoyed dancing, fishing, and participating in bowling leagues as a child and later as an adult. He enjoyed collecting DVD/VHS movies. He also enjoyed collecting various items related to action heroes, his favorites being Spiderman and The Joker. Throughout his adult life he had an entrepreneurial spirit and tried his hand at various startup small businesses, which included a lawn and power washing business and dreamt of being self-employed someday.
Eric had a huge heart and loved being around his younger nieces and nephews. Eric was a very generous person and at times was generous to a fault, but that was his giving nature. In keeping with that generous nature his organs were donated so that he could give the gift of life to several people and through them touch the lives of countless others.
Eric is survived by his mother, Noemi M. Gonzalez (Luis); father, Albert C. Vasquez (Susan); daughter, Kristine N. Vasquez; siblings, Albert Steven Vasquez (Jourdan), Luis Gabriel Gonzalez (Taylor), Samantha Gonzalez-Cranage (Lucas), Jacob Vasquez (Sol), Amanda C. Vasquez; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Eric was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Lupe and Arturo Vasquez, and Maria del Socorro and Jose S. Maldonado.
A Visitation for Eric will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2025 at Schertz Funeral Home from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations in honor of Eric to the Texas Organ Sharing Alliance Foundation.
