Ellen Ruth Hamilton Huddleston

Ellen Ruth Hamilton Huddleston, 83, passed away peacefully at 10:25 a.m. on July 22nd, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Ellen was born on November 29th, 1942, in Kingsville, Texas, to William Jeter Hamilton and Nancy Hamilton. She grew up and spent most of her life in Palestine, Texas, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and service.

A devoted Christian, Ellen loved the Lord with all her heart. Her faith was the foundation of her life and was reflected in the kindness, compassion, and grace she extended to everyone she met. She faithfully trusted God throughout every season of life and found great joy in her family and in serving others.

Ellen dedicated many years of service to the Texas Secretary of State’s Office, where she was respected for her hard work, integrity, and commitment.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, William Jeter Hamilton and Nancy Hamilton, and by her cherished son, Curtis Huddleston.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Cheryl Campbell; her sisters, Joyce Huddleston and her husband, Van Huddleston, and Bonnie Prather; her grandson, Noah Huddleston and his wife, Christie Huddleston; her granddaughter, Lauren Huddleston; her great-grandchildren, Lorenzo Loftis and Drew Huddleston; along with numerous extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Ellen will be remembered for her unwavering faith, gentle spirit, loving heart, and the unconditional love she had for her family. She was a source of strength, encouragement, and comfort to those who knew her. Her life was a beautiful example of humility, perseverance, and God’s love in action.

Although her family grieves her passing, they find peace and comfort in knowing that she has entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she faithfully loved and served throughout her life.

Ellen’s legacy of faith, love, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
