Eleanor J. Hartman

October 10, 1935 — August 23, 2025

San Antonio, Texas

ELEANOR JOYCE HOWISON WEBB HARTMAN

Eleanor was born in Richwood, Ohio to parents Arlington and Elizabeth Howison on October 10, 1935. Eleanor grew up in Prospect, Ohio until moving to Texas at the age of 12. After graduating from Calallen H.S. in Corpus Christi, Texas, Eleanor met Robert D. "Bob" Webb and they were married August 20th 1954.

Eleanor worked for the phone company until their first child (Robert Mark)was born. Three years later, second child (Laura) came along. Bob and Eleanor moved from Corpus Christi to Lolita, Texas and later moved to San Antonio in 1969. They raised their family here until 1976, then they moved to Fort Stockton for 18 months, returning to San Antonio in 1977.

Years later, after retirement, Eleanor and Bob enjoyed traveling with friends in a street rod group, going to several states in Bob's 40 model Ford Coupe. Eleanor was a caregiver to many of her loved ones, including her parents, mother in law and beloved Bob until his passing in 2005.

Eleanor began attending Windcrest United Methodist Church and joined a Sunday school class, where she caught the eye of Col. Carlton Hartman and they eventually married on May 16, 2009. Carlton loved to travel and show Eleanor sites in the US and other countries, as Carlton experienced those places again through Eleanor's eyes with much enjoyment. They had 9 1/2 years of fun and laughs together and she once again took on her role as caregiver for Carlton until his passing in 2018.

Eleanor lost her battle with cancer, with her loving children by her side. She fought in the most positive way and showed her family and friends her strength and faith with each passing day.

Eleanor was preceded in death by the 2 special men in her life; Robert D. "Bob" Webb and Col. Carlton F. Hartman; parents A.B. and Elizabeth Howison, younger brother Arlington David Howison, in-laws Melvin and Louise Webb; and sister in law Barbara Ordner and nephew Jeffrey L. Howison. Eleanor leaves behind her son Robert Mark / Tara Webb (Waller, Texas); daughter Laura/Ron Hoch (San Antonio, Texas), and stepson Stephen Hartman (Leesburg, Florida). Grandchildren; Marcie Webb; Kevin /Brandy Webb; Travis/Raven Hoch; Matt/Pamela Hoch, Ben/Michelle Hartman; Andy/Kristen Hartman; John/Cara Hartman.
