Elaine Kay Lear, born June 23, 1951, in San Antonio, passed away surrounded by the love of her family and the faith that guided her throughout her life.
Elaine was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring sister, and faithful friend whose warmth touched everyone she met. Raised in San Antonio, she carried the spirit of her hometown with her throughout her life — kindhearted, welcoming, and full of strength. She dedicated herself to her family as a mother and homemaker, creating a home filled with love, laughter, comfort, and unwavering support.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Greg Lear; her daughter, Lisa Bettner; and her sons, Scott Lear, Ben Lear, and Jeff Lear. She also leaves behind her cherished sister, Karen Haines, and brother, Roland Neill, along with many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her presence.
Elaine was known for her outgoing personality, positive outlook, and deep faith in God. She had a gift for making others feel welcome and cared for, and her encouragement and compassion left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Her faith gave her strength through every season of life and served as an inspiration to her family and friends.
Though her passing leaves a tremendous void, her family finds comfort in the many beautiful memories she created and the love she shared so freely. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Funeral services for Elaine Kay Lear will be held on May 28, 2026 at OLPH Catholic Church at 11am.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
