Eileen
Clark

Schertz Funeral Home & Crematory
10:00 - 11:00 am (Central time)
Eileen Clark, affectionately known as “Lene,” was born on January 8, 1960, to the late Jesse Brackett and Dorothy Mae Clark. A proud graduate of John McDonogh Senior High School, Class of 1979, she continued her education at Southern University at New Orleans, where she studied business.
A beloved figure in the St. Bernard community, Lene dedicated much of her life to serving others. From working as a lifeguard at the St. Bernard NORD gym to coaching young ladies in basketball, softball, and volleyball at Willie Hall Park, she touched countless lives. An athlete herself, she played on several softball teams and was widely known for her exceptional talent in hair braiding, a gift she continued sharing across cities even after Hurricane Katrina.
To know Lene was to know love, laughter, and a good home-cooked meal. She was a nurturer, a second mother to many, and someone who made sure every child was cared for, every head was combed, and every belly was full. Whether making her famous pralines, marinated crabs, red beans, or twice-baked potatoes, she brought family and friends together through food and fellowship.
On October 14, 2026, God called Lene home, her earthly work complete.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved son, Damyron Clark; granddaughter, Amelia; five godchildren, Siqueta Montgomery, Paul Joseph, Ria Reynolds, Justin Grison, and Kodi Snyder; siblings Allen, Frank (Peggy), Desiree, Jesse, Eric, Vernon, and Lillian Clark; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Brackett and Dorothy Mae Clark; siblings Anita Reynolds, John, Donald, and Doris Clark; and other beloved family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. CST at Schertz Funeral Home and Crematory, 2217 FM 3009, Schertz, TX 78154. Family and friends are welcome to attend in person or online.
