Edward Bruce Weinstein

Edward B. Weinstein, age 73, of Cibolo, Texas passed away on June 24, 2023. Ed was a gentle-man who had a kind and generous heart and was greatly loved by his family, many friends, and co-workers.

Ed lived his entire life in the San Antonio area. He was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and received a Business Master’s Degree after attending Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas and University of Texas San Antonio.

He worked at San Antonio Water Systems for 36 years and retired in 2013. He received awards from Toastmaster’s International while working at SAWS.

Ed was a Master Mason and Past Master of San Antonio Lodge #1079. In more recent years he was very active with the Masonic Lodge in Schertz, Texas and an Eastern Star in Schertz. He also worked with the Schertz Rainbow Girls. He was a member of the Sons of Hiram through the Alzafar Shrine as well.

Ed was active with Elf Louise in San Antonio and served as the Blue Santa for the Cibolo Police Department. He loved being Santa Claus every year and even grew his own beard.

Ed was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Weinstein, and his daughter Dorothy Rose Sutton.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Raedeanne (Rae) Weinstein; daughters Rebecca (Becky), Rebekah (Becca), and Stephanie; Grandchildren, Andrew, Stephen, Alexander, Dean, and Kaci; and Great-Granddaughter Emerly. He is also survived by his mother, Phyllis Weinstein; aunt, Joyce Penner; brother, Michael Weinstein; sister, Anne Leslie Joseph; sister-in-law, Benay Weinstein; and brother-in-law, Edward Joseph and many nephews and great-nephews and nieces.

A Memorial Service for Ed will be held at Schertz Funeral Home on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 10:00 AM.
