Earl was born to Blanche Boyle Finck and Klaus Henry Finck. They lived on a farm north of Okaton, South Dakota. Earl attended school in a one-room schoolhouse until he graduated high school in 1952 and in 1954, he joined the Army.
During Earl’s 21 years in the Army, he served 2 tours in Germany and 2 tours in Vietnam. He settled in San Antonio and retired from Civil Service from Randolph AFB.
Earl participated in Veterans’ organizations such as the VFW 8451, American Legion 592 and 593, and the DAV. Earl was also a truehearted friend and humor was an essential life skill. He loved food and karaoke spending many a night at Lu’s singing karaoke with friends.
Earl is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Tommie Jo Finck and he is survived by his two brothers Dale and Paul.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Schertz Funeral Home from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM. The Graveside Service will be held the following day on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 10:00 AM followed by a Reception at the VFW Hall Post 8541 from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
