Dwayne Eric Case (Eric) was born on August 29, 1970 in Carmel, CA and passed away on November 14, 2021 in Universal City, TX. Eric Graduated in 1988 at Copperas Cove High School and joined the Army shortly after in November 1989.

In the Army, Eric served as a Healthcare Specialist for fourteen years, and over ten years as a Medical Sergeant in the Special Forces. He served in seven combat deployments and two humanitarian missions in different parts of the world, and was decorated with 2 Combat Medical badges, 1 Combat Infantry Badge, 3 Bronze Stars (one with valor,) and 5 Army Commendation Medals.

Eric had a hunger for learning, particularly about medicine and the effects of fear and stress on the human body and mind. He found his true passion in teaching and sharing with students his wealth of medical and cross-cultural knowledge. A faithful Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR fan, rock music and Jeep enthusiast, Eric loved to have a great time with his family and friends.

Eric is survived by his parents Bill and Ann, his brother Darrel, his wife Greta, his children Austin, Trisha, Alisha, and Katja, his grandson Carter, stepchildren Joshua, Dimitri, and Dante, nieces and nephews, and his dog Rocky.

A Visitation will be held at Schertz Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 8th, 2021 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM. The Graveside Service will be held the following day at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Thursday, December 9th, 2021 at 2:00 PM.
