Doyle Dee Grassmeyer

September 15, 1932 — April 5, 2024

Schertz, TX

Doyle Lee Grassmeyer peacefully entered eternal rest on Friday, April 5th 2024, at the age of 91. He was born to Frank Grassmeyer and Ruby Harden on September 15th, 1932, in Riverdale, NE.

Doyle married the love of his life, Jinni Campbell, on September 20th, 1952 in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Doyle was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa. His wife, children, and grandchildren were his entire life. He loved playing, watching sports, and watching or listening to his grandson, Josh, about his racing.

Doyle joined the United States Air Force and moved to multiple different states including, Ohio, Arkansas, Arizona, and South Carolina before finally moving to Schertz, TX and making it home. Doyle retired from the Air Force after 20 years, then worked 26 more years in San Marcos at Gary Job Corps Center. Doyle was very proud of his other two grandsons, Nick and Cole, who followed in his footsteps and joined the United States Air Force.

Sadly, Doyle lost both children, Bonnie Jean Sweeney on January 24, 2014 and Steve Doyle Grassmeyer on April 18, 2018, as well as his wife, Jinni Grassmeyer on December 10, 2018.

Doyle was a kind, caring, loving Grandfather, Dad, and Husband. He now has the best seat in the house to watch golf, sports, to look over us, and to be with his loving family. We love you Grandpa! You will forever be in our hearts!

Doyle is preceded in death by his wife, Jinni Grassmeyer and her parents; his parents, Frank and Ruby Grassmeyer; his children, Bonnie Sweeney and Steve Grassmeyer; and his 6 siblings.

Doyle is survived by his loving grandsons, Josh Ledford, his wife Rachel and their son Cam of Hawaii, Nick Mullennix, his wife Melissa and their daughters, Emilee and Sarah of McKinney, TX, and Cole Grassmeyer, who is stationed in Abilene, TX; his daughter in law, Donna Grassmeyer; and numerous extended family members and friends.
