With broken hearts—and deep gratitude for her beautiful life—we announce the passing of Dorothy Dee Hall, who went home to be with Jesus on December 2, 2025. Surrounded by love, she stepped peacefully into Heaven, where her health is restored and her joy complete.
Born on December 23, 1949, in San Antonio, Texas, Dorothy built a life centered on faith, family, and love. She gave endlessly, never expecting anything in return. Her hands were always caring, her words encouraging, and her heart open to all.
Dorothy married the love of her life, Richard Hall Sr., and together they built a life marked by love, faith, and gentle devotion. She was the proud mother of Richard Hall Jr. and Jessica Hall, who always knew they could count on her for wisdom, comfort, and unconditional love.
She was a cherished grandmother to Cameron and Mason, and she tenderly adored her newest joy, her great-grandson Blake. Her family was her greatest blessing, and she loved them with her whole heart.
Dorothy’s quiet, unwavering faith was the anchor of her life. She lived with kindness, humility, and a gentle spirit that touched everyone she met.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Janie Gretchner, and her father, Gene Bilbrey. She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Hall Sr.; her children, Richard Hall Jr. and Jessica (Scott); her grandchildren, Cameron (Emma) and Mason; her great-grandson, Blake; her stepfather, Edward Gretchner (Kim); her sisters, Janette Atkinson and Debbie Gretchner; and her brothers, Edward and Steve Gretchner.
A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m., with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. on December 13, 2025, at Schertz Funeral Home & Crematory.
Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort knowing she is at peace—restored in the presence of her Savior. Her love remains a lasting reminder that the simplest, kindest lives often leave the deepest imprint.
