Dorothy Dillow

July 18, 1937 — December 7, 2020

Dorothy Dillow, of Spring Branch, Texas went to be with our Lord on December 7, 2020 at the age of 83. Dorothy was born on July 18, 1937 to Charles and Aneda Orth in her family’s farmhouse in Cibolo, Texas. She was the youngest of 4 sisters. She graduated from Schertz-Cibolo High in circa 1954. She initially attended grade school in a one-room schoolhouse on Green Valley Road with her sisters. She married Marvin Dillow on May 27, 1976 and shared her life with him for 44 years. She lived most of her life in Texas but spent about 20 years in West Virginia where her and Marvin attended local events such as the Buckwheat Festival every year. They were regularly active in the Grace Baptist Church in Kingwood, WV where she often played the organ and sang with the church choir. She was exceptionally talented at crocheting and won multiple awards for her beautiful afghans that she created. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for Civil Service for approximately 20 years. She then went on to drive school buses for the SCUCISD.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Marvin Dillow, her daughter, Cheryl Brannon, her sisters, Eleanora Neese, Rosemarie Ackermann, and Helen Brown, her granddaughter and her husband, Ryan and Amanda Silsbee, and her great-granddaughters, Alannah and Kyleigh Silsbee.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Aneda Orth, and grandchild, Douglas Brannon.

A memorial in her honor is being planned with details to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
