Doris Genevieve Kosub
April 17, 1931 - August 19, 2026

Doris G. Kosub died peacefully on August 19, 2026, at the age of 95.

Doris grew up on Vanderbilt Street in southeast San Antonio and graduated from St. Gerard Catholic High School in 1949. Doris retired from the San Antonio Independent School District after a fulfilling career as an administrative assistant at the Jefferson Davis Middle School library and Highlands High School attendance office.

Doris will be remembered for her kindness to everyone she met and her love of family. 

She will be deeply missed by her children Joyce Kosub, Stephen Kosub (Deborah Aelvoet Kosub), Loretta Leonard (James Leonard), Kristy Kosub, and John Kosub (Deborah Hrncir Kosub); grandchildren, Stephanie Flowers (Darryl Flowers), Kelly Schaefer (Travis Schaefer), Ryan Leonard, David Kosub (Andrea Kosub), Eric Kosub, and Alan Kosub; four great grandchildren, sister-in-law Beatrice (Bea) Ploch, numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and life-long friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Elmer Kosub; parents Emil Ploch, Sr and Mary Ploch, siblings Harold Ploch, Joseph (Buddy) Ploch, Marlene Laechelin, Daniel Ploch, and Emil (Skip) Ploch, Jr.

Service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 14011 FM 1346, Saint Hedwig, Texas 78152. Visitation begins at 9:30 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church cemetery, Saint Hedwig, Texas.
