Donald LeRoy Barrett

Donald LeRoy Barrett went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the age of 86.  He was born in Bradford, Pennsylvania, on February 5, 1937, to Paul and Margaret Barrett.  He attended Bradford High School, graduating in 1955.  He then attended the University of Cincinnati, in  Cincinnati, Ohio, graduating  in 1960.  Following graduation, he joined the Air Force as a second lieutenant and was sent to Harlingen Air Force Base in Harlingen, Texas, where he trained to be a navigator.  There he met and married his wife, Kathryne A. Stout.  He served in the Air Force for twenty years in the Strategic Air Command and Flight Test, retiring in 1980 with the rank of major.  After his retirement, he and his family settled in Schertz, Texas.  Later he retired from Phoenix Heat Tracing in McQueeney, TX.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.  He is preceded in death by his mother and father, daughter Lynda, son David, and mother-in law and father-in-law, Kathryne and Jack Stout.  He is survived by his wife, Kathryne; daughter Laura; son Mark and his wife Jennifer, his brother Ted and his wife Carol, his grandchildren, Mason, and Leo, and numerous nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends.

Visitation will be at Schertz Funeral Home in Schertz, Texas, on December 3 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  A graveside service will be held December 4 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lytton Springs Cemetery, Lytton Springs, Texas.5
