Don Alcala

Don Alcala, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at the age of 59. He was born on June 10, 1962 in San Antonio, Texas. Don graduated from Thomas Edison High School and then went on to attend Hallmark University. On March 16, 1991, he married the love of his life, Laura Sanchez. Don was a great provider, husband, and father. He adored his wife and children. He was an A&P mechanic and an avid motorcycle rider. Don took great pride in keeping his vehicles in pristine condition.

Don is preceded in death by his mother, Solveig Hammar. He is survived by his loving wife, Laura Alcala; daughter, April Alcala; sons, Michael and Max Alcala; brothers, Jeffrey and Gary Alcala; and sister, Cynthia Alcala.

Our world will be sadder since he has left us.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00PM - 7:00PM with the Rosary being recited at 6:00PM on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the San Antonio Life Academy where Don’s boys attend school.
