Delia Quintana, 71, of Cibolo, Texas, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, May 29, 2021. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family. Born on April 2, 1950, in San Antonio, Texas to Raul and Maria Martinez, Delia grew up on Carlisle Ave and graduated from Harlandale High School. In 1972, she married the love of her life, William Quintana. The Air Force gave them the opportunity to travel the country and out of the country for over 20 years while raising a family .
A loving mother and doting grandmother, Delia was actively involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. It was her joy to be around her grandchildren, often cooking for them or buying them Taco Bell or Panda Express. She made time for all important moments and events and looked for ways to support family endeavors. In her free time, she loved to stay active, often traveling, visiting family and friends, shopping, gambling at the casinos, and watching Gunsmoke reruns. At any given moment you could find her with lipstick on and a smile. Delia never met a stranger and had a strong devotion to God and family. Her legacy is that of faith, strength, and love.
Delia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, William Quintana, and her devoted parents, Raul and Maria Martinez. Delia is survived by her four children, Anthony Quintana with wife, Jen, Christopher Quintana, Michele Jakubczyk with husband, Tobiasz, and Delia Ann Quintana with fiancé, Hank, and thirteen grandchildren, Hector, Alycia, Elizabeth, Mariana, Vincent, Nevaeh, David, Yesenia, Adelynn, Violet, Lawrence, William, and Abigail, and one great- grandchild, Evelyn. She is also survived by her six siblings, Olga Medellin, Raul Martinez Jr., Roger Martinez, Lucy Cruz, MaryAnn Martinez, and Susie Solis, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at the Schertz Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 9:00 AM, at the Schertz Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
