Deborah Prudhomme

Deborah (Debbie) Lynn Prudhomme, born to Dorothy B.J. (Clark) Callahan and John Edward Callahan Jr. on May 1, 1954 in Norfolk, Virginia went peacefully to her heavenly Father on November 3, 2021, at the age of 67.

Debbie was a devoted Mother to her 3 children who she loved dearly Chad, Jasmine and Tommie, as well as 3 stepchildren Terry Jr., Clifton, and Anika. She was a dedicated civil servant at Griffiss AFB working in administration when she met the love of her life, CMSgt. Terry Prudhomme Sr. They were married on July 30, 1988 in Rome NY. Together their careers took the family to Panama (Howard AFB), Cheyenne Wyoming (F.E. Warren AFB), Colorado Springs, CO (Peterson AFB) and San Antonio, Texas (Randolph AFB).

Debbie was an avid reader, loved travel, and trying new things. Most of all she loved her family and took special joy in being a grandmother to her loving grandchildren: CaLeigha, Cameron, Caleb, Stella, and Eleanor “Ellie Bea;” as well as her step-grands Ayianni, Aleeyah and Amari. She enjoyed attending the grandchildren’s sport events, cooking with them, doing crafts, teaching them to swim, and engaging with their interests whether it was dinosaurs, dragons, or deep space. She was a proud and protective grandmother who thoroughly enjoyed creating special memories and traditions with her loved ones.

Debbie was preceded in death by parents Dorothy Betty June Callahan and John Callahan Jr. and stepson Terry Prudhomme Jr. Debbie is survived by her husband, Terry Prudhomme Sr., 5 children: Chad (Cori) Callahan, Jasmine (Sadie) Williamson, Tommie Collier, Clifton Prudhomme, Anika (Tate) Wilson,twinsibling:Denise(Gary) Obloy andJohn(Karen) Callahan, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was affectionately known as “the greatest Aunt Debbie” by her 6 great-nephews and a great-niece.

Debbie was a source of strength, joy and comfort to her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her creativity and love of family was her passion and her annual family cookbooks are treasured by all those who contributed by sending recipes. She was the cornerstone of. the family, a rare jewel, a special Sister, Mom, Wife, Aunt, Grandmother and Sister-in-love.

A Visitation will be held from 11:45AM - 12:45PM on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:45PM. Interment will immediately follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:30PM.
