David B. Root, age 70, of Cibolo, Texas went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2026. David was born in California on July 13, 1956.

David dedicated 23 years of service in the Navy before retiring as Commander. Afterwards, David decided to continue sharing his knowledge at Carnegie Mellon University, in both teaching and consulting positions for over 20 years. 

In 1985 he married the love of his life, with whom he shared a wonderful 41 years together. 

David is preceded in death by both his parents. Leaving behind to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, their two children and their spouses, along with his two siblings.

Per David’s wishes, he will be buried at sea at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Believers Fellowship, Grace to You, or Christ Bible Church.
