David John Kinney

David J. Kinney, 64, passed away on August 08, 2025. He was born on November 12, 1960 in Deadwood, SD. 

David was a retired Security Forces TSGT with the United States Airforce and a retired LT with the Universal City Police Department. A combined 45 years of selfless service to protect and serve his country, community and his family had left him to be highly respected and admired in his field by all. 

He was an extremely talented artist who enjoyed Carpentry, Knife Smithing, Welding and Gardening. David is Survived by his son, Daniel Kinney, His Daughter and Son in Law Stephanie and Joseph Gonzales and his 2 grandchildren, Triston and Reina. He was also survived by his younger brothers Scott and Kevin Kinney and his Mom, Velda Kinney. 

David is preceded in death by his parents, Sandra McNeil and Jack Kinney and his younger brother, Micheal Kinney. 

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, September 1, 2025 in the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 10 am. The Memorial Service will follow, at 11 am.
