David James Downey

David J. Downey, age 65, of Cibolo, TX and previously Corpus Christi, TX, quietly passed away at his home on April 29, 2025.

He was born March 1960 in Portales, New Mexico and is the son of late Jim and Ruth (Walz) Downey.

Dave was unmarried but had a tremendous impact on his brothers and their families plus friends and co-workers. He was very kind, thoughtful and absolutely loved telling the ‘proverbial’ Dad jokes and never had a shortage of puns.

David dedicated nearly his entire professional career to the investment industry and remained personally passionate about it throughout his life. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, faithfully watching every game from start to finish for decades, regardless of the outcome. David also had a strong interest in computers and technology, consistently staying current with the latest innovations and serving as the go-to IT resource in his workplace

But mostly, Dave was a very dear family member who looked out for all us, especially our parents, helping to make personal decisions, health choices and so much more.

Dave is survived by his two brothers, Don & Doug Downey, and their families.
