It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that the Reid family announce the passing of Darral Reid (Cibolo, TX)…beloved brother, husband, father, and friend. He passed on August 20, 2021, at the age of 53. He is the 3rd born son of the late Alfred A. Reid, Jr. and Marieta B. Reid. He met and married the love of his life, Karel, on December 17, 1999. On Oct. 1, 1999, his “heart”, Jade, was born. Apparently, “order” was not his strong suit.
Because he was the son of a U.S. Veteran, Darral traveled to various places and befriended a lot of people, some of which would remain life-long friends. He graduated from John H. Reagan H.S. in Austin, TX. in 1985. Those that knew him will remember him for his unwavering friendship, his charm, jokes, laughter and smile. Most will remember him for his cooking. And, whether you just met him, or had known him from forever ago, Darral had a way of wrangling you into being a part of his life.
He is survived by his wife Karel, daughter Jade, older brothers Terry and Brien and their wives Stephanie and Rhonda (respectively), younger sister Lisa and her husband Jamey, nieces Lera, Callie, Alahna, Maleah, Katrina, Kacey, Linsey, Gillian, Tori, and Aleisah, nephews Terrance, Jaden, Tai, and Connor, great-nieces Amora, Addy, River, and Ryu.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” – 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Schertz Funeral Home.
