Darla Farris Corona, a beloved member of her family and community, was born on October 20, 1963, in Bryan, Texas. She departed from this life on December 2, 2025, in Sugar Land, Texas, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love.
A proud graduate of Texas A & I University, Darla earned her Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology. Her education equipped her not only for her professional life but also for her dedicated volunteer work, especially within the St. Lawrence Catholic community, where she took on the role of leader of the Challenge Girls Group. She was a woman of deep faith and commitment, instilling values of kindness and leadership in the young girls she mentored.
Darla will be remembered fondly for her hobbies that brought joy to herself and others, particularly her passion for crafting and interior design. Her creative spirit was evident in the warmth and beauty that filled every room she decorated and every project she undertook.
Darla is survived by her loving husband, Manuel Corona; her son, Tony Corona, and daughter, Alexis M. Corona; and her sister, Dawn Shockley. She was preceded in death by her father, Jeff Alonzo Farris Jr.; her mother, Tommye Ladelle Griffin; her grandfather, Jeff Alonzo Farris Sr., and her grandmother Annie Vivian Madole.
As we honor Darla's remarkable life, we invite family and friends to pay their respects. Visitation will be held on December 4, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Schertz Funeral Home & Crematory in Schertz, Texas. A Rosary will follow at 7:00 PM that same evening. A Mass in her honor will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma, Texas, on December 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with a graveside service immediately following at Our Lady of Perpetual Help - Selma Cemetery #2 at 12:15 PM.
Darla Farris Corona's warm heart and generous spirit touched the lives of many who were fortunate to know her. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
