Shain Abney

Our hearts are saddened by the loss of Daniel Shain Abney, 49. He passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at his home in Schertz, TX. He was a loving husband, father, and a beloved member of the family. He was loved by his family and his friends. He will be greatly missed.

Shain was born on May 14, 1976, in Alamogordo, NM to Herbie and Margaret Abney. After spending his entire life in New Mexico, he and his family made Texas their home in 2015.

Shain was preceded in death by his father, Herbie Abney, brother, Shjan Dale Abney, and son, Shjan Nicholas Abney. He is survived by his wife, Nichole Abney, five children: Joshua Abney and Valeria Gonzales of Alamogordo, NM, Danielle Huebner and Hunter Pope of Floresville, TX, Ashley Huebner of Alamogordo, NM, Kristofer Abney and Zira Diaz of Stockdale, TX, and Cerah Abney of Schertz, TX, two grandchildren, Roman Jimenez and Koah Abney, as well as his mother, Margaret Abney of Tularosa, NM. He also leaves behind countless family and friends that will miss him and cherish the memories they created together.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the Everyday Christian Fellowship, located at 950 Everyday Way in Cibolo, TX.
