Dan “Danbo” Edward Sanchez, 60, rode off into paradise on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at his home in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on February 29, 1960 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to parents, Marvin and Rita Sanchez.
Dan graduated from Douglas MacArthur Highschool in 1979 before enlisting for the United States Marine Corp. During his 4 years of service, Dan earned a Rifle Expert Badge, Meritorious Mast, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal. After being Honorably Discharged, Dan began his 35 year career with the United States Postal Service. As recognition for 30+ years of dedicated government service, he was awarded the Service Award Pin. Dan enjoyed being a Christian, hunting, fishing, cruising on his motorcycle and working at Mia Marcos Pizzaria.
More than anything, Dan loved to spend quality time with his family and his Leatherneck brothers. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Rita Sanchez; brother, David Sanchez. He is survived by his son, Des Sanchez with wife, Emily Siwecki; daughter, Sarah Martinez with husband Jr.; grandson, Caleb Martinez; sister, Joleen Dybowski with husband, Bill; Derek Sanchez with wife, Magaly Medina; nephew, Marco Sanchez; nieces, Andrea Sanchez, Christina Sanchez with children, Nicole Nuss with children and Mia Sanchez.
Visitation will be held from 4:00PM - 8:00PM on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Open Road Bible Fellowship - 9435 Selma Parkway Selma, Texas 78154. Interment will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery featuring United States Marine Honors.
