Cody Harrison Smith, 29, of Cibolo, Texas, passed away on October 23, 2023 surrounded by family and friends. Cody endured a long five-year battle with Neuroendocrine Pancreatic cancer. Cody was born on January 25, 1994 to Richard & Kathy Smith in San Antonio, Texas.

After Cody graduated from Marion High School in 2012, he went on to study business management at Blinn College. Cody started his career in 2014 at French Ellison Kenworth in the warranty department. In 2021, he started a career at Casey’s General Store as the Fleet Operations Manager. While working for Casey’s, Cody’s team was awarded the Fleet Maintenance Operation of the Year at the Iowa Motor Truck Management Conference & Awards Banquet in September 2022.

In 2014, Cody met Delaine Smith through a mutual friend, Frank Rosales, when they attended a get together at Delaine’s parents place on Lake Placid in Seguin, Texas. Cody and Delaine married on March 19, 2022 after dating for five years. Cody and Delaine both loved fishing and hunting and spent many hours fishing on their bay boat. Cody’s true passion was working on and restoring cars and trucks. When he wasn’t in the garage working on vehicles, Cody was either in the kitchen or on the grill where he loved to barbecue for friends.

Cody is survived by his wife Delaine; his father Richard Smith, his mother Katherine Smith, his sister Kristyn Smith Ladshaw and husband Andrew Ladshaw, brother Richard Smith, niece Kinsley Ladshaw, his 4-legged friends Buddy and Molly, his in-laws, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Cody is preceded in death by grandparents Richard & Virginia Smith, grandparents Herman & Carolyn Hopper, uncle Billy Smith and cousin Randy Smith. Pallbearers will be Richard Smith, Cody Troncoso, Frank Rosales, Jacob Lampman, Forrest Whitaker, and Kyle Brown.

Visitation and Service will be held on November 2, 2023 at Redeemer United Church of Christ, 7415 Gin Rd. in Zuehl, Texas. Visitation will be from 4:30pm to 6:00pm with the service to follow starting at 6:00pm. A celebration will follow at Old Main Ice House at 110 N. Main Street in Cibolo, Texas. Flowers can be sent to Schertz Funeral Home at 2217 FM3009, Schertz, TX 78154.
