CMSGT USAF (ret) Wayburn D. (Bud) Humphries, age 90, passed away on December 2, 2022. He was born to Lonnie and Mae Humphries on March 19, 1932, in Dumas Arkansas.
Bud served 32 years active duty in the Air Force from 1952-1984. He served as a board director on Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union for 6 years and served as a Director of the Eisenhower National Bank for twenty years. He also served on the San Antonio USO Council for many years.
He is preceded in death by both his parents; brothers Houston and Loyce Humphries; sisters, Sara Posey, Evelyn Knight, Weaber Quarles (twin); his wife of 66 years, Joretta Sims Humphries; his son-in-law, Dennis McCormick; his grandson, Jordan McCormick; and his great-grandson, Jay Hodges.
Bud is survived by his daughters, Deborah Humphries (Gayl Newton), Kim Schmidt (Ralph), and Shawn McCormick-White (Don); grandchildren, Nathan and Danny Schmidt, Julie Hodges, Calen McCormick, and Maggie Steitler; great-grandchildren, Trace and Birdie Hodges, Sadie and Dean Steitler, and Noah and Myla Schmidt.
Visitation will be at the Schertz Funeral Home on December 18, 2022 from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery, Pavilion 3, on December 19, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.
