Clemenstine Hollowell

July 15, 1944 — March 5, 2024

Clemenstine Hollowell, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on March 5, 2024 in Cibolo, Texas. Clemenstine, affectionally known as “Stine” was born to Pearlene Terry and Authur Lee Davis in Chicago, Illinois, but was raised in Memphis, Tennessee spending much of her time with her grandmother Dinah Grant. Stine the eldest of 7 children moved to Los Angeles in 1967 where she met the love of her life Walter Parker Hollowell while working as a typist clerk for the Los Angeles County Welfare Department.

Stine worked hard at all she did. She attended Cal State Dominguez Hills and graduated Cum Laude in 1980 with a degree in human services. Upon graduation, Stine began working with Federal Probation where she made bail recommendations on such offenders as international cartel members. Stine would go on to serve as a Supervising Parole Agent for the State of California for 21 years retiring in 2005.

Stine lived a life of love and adventure. She could be found with her face in a James Patterson or John Grisham book, shopping, or braving skydiving or class 4 rapids. She traveled Europe extensively with Walter, spending time exploring castles and country sides. One of Stines greatest adventures was traveling to the Ivory Coast in Africa where she and Walter renewed their vows in a traditional Ivory Coast wedding ceremony draped in kita cloth and jewels.

There are many things Stine will be remembered by: her beautiful sense of fashion and design, her genuineness and honesty, her delicious carrot cake, and the way she told stories that made you feel as if you were there. The love that she gave will never be replaced.

Stine carried the poem “Invictus” by William Ernest Henley with her in her wallet but also in her spirit. The words “ I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul” showed in the way she lived and the legacy that she leaves behind.

Stine is survived by her husband Walter, son Tony, grandchildren D’Andre and Jasmine, 4 greatgrandchildren, 2 sisters, 4 brothers, 2 nephews, and a niece. All of those she loved and deeply touched.

A celebration of life will be held in the near future.
