Clemens Dominic Dylla

September 24, 1933 — July 18, 2025

Live Oak, Texas

Clemens D. Dylla (Clem) was born September 24, 1933, in La Vernia, TX to Dominic & Victoria (Ibrom) Dylla and entered eternal rest on July 18, 2025, in Live Oak, TX.

Clem grew up on his family’s farm in St. Hedwig, TX and learned the meaning of hard work from a very early age. He spent countless hours taking care of farm animals, planting and harvesting grain and hay, as well as the brutally hard work of picking and pulling cotton.

Clem met the love of his life Mary Ann Haecker and after a long courtship, they married on September 12, 1964. They both loved to bowl and dance together and spent many hours dancing to waltzes, polkas, and two steps. They also loved to fish and hunt together and taught their kids to love outdoor life as well. Clem took great pride in his sausage-making abilities, and he willingly shared his knowledge and offered his equipment and smoke house to friends and family.

Clem worked for Friedrich Refrigeration for nearly 35 years and then finished his work career at Bexar Electric, now IES. He made many lasting friendships that he cherished deeply at those two jobs. After retirement, he loved to go play slot machines and the lottery with Mary Ann, as well as watch the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros play.

Clem was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years Mary Ann, his parents, sisters Lucille Bienek (and husband Anthony), Pauline Bienek (and husband Bernard), father- and mother-in-law Benno and Leonie Haecker, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Elroy Haecker (and wife Virginia), Lucille Nolen (and husband Floyd), Don Parsons, Benno Haecker Jr., Lee Jay Haecker, Willis Cohu, and Melvin Golla, nephews Ronald, Gary, and Bobby Bienek, Lloyd Mueller, and nieces Geraldine and Donna Bienek.

Clem is survived by his daughter Lorna Vrana (husband Alton), sons Kevin Heacker (wife Missy), Tim Dylla (wife Wendy), and Tobie Dylla (wife Ann Marie). He is also survived by grandchildren Shane (wife Alaura), Shayla (husband Andrew), Ryan, Austin (wife Megan), Hayley, Jared, Kyle, and Logan, and 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Ruby Golla, Carolyn Cohu, Elaine Meckel (husband Richard), as well as many nieces and nephews.
