Christian Eric Rodriguez

Christian Eric Rodriguez, known by some friends as "Dax" passed away unexpectedly July 2, 2022.  He was born in San Antonio, Texas on February 9, 1996.
He lived in San Antonio most of his life, except in 2003 - 2006 when he and the family lived in Corpus Christi, Texas.
He courageously, humbly battled worsening severe chronic pain and debilitation due to genetic illnesses that there was no cure and not much effective treatments for.   He was bedridden from age 14 1/2 to 17 years old with the condition P.O.T.S. after a surgery.  That condition improved after 2 1/2 years for a while.  His most severe pain was from a very rare genetic illness called Multiple Glomuvenous Malformations and from Arteriovenous Malformations.
He had always been the most extremely outgoing, charismatic extrovert; however, he was more subdued the past few years for reasons related to his illnesses.  However, he still kept that spark and his remarkably positive, humble, kind, loving and very empathetic attitude toward all others.
Christian had been baptized at Mac Arthur Park Church of Christ. He attended Serna Elementary School in San Antonio, Texas, and Dawson Elementary in Corpus Christi.  After Elementary he briefly went to different schools since his main illness progressed. However, he still earned his high school diploma and had many aspirations.
Christian loved collecting things.  He collected Domos, coins and bottle caps. He loved reading and learning. He also loved video games and listening to different genres and eras of music. He was very intelligent, well-spoken, and talented.  He was an amazing artist.  He loved his family so much and his dogs Pasquale, Rudy, and Abby.
He is survived by his father Eric Rodriguez and his mother Leah (Stair) Rodriguez, his brothers Derek Rodriguez and Sebastian Rodriguez and his sister Vanessa Rodriguez.  His grandparents George and Joan Stair, his uncles Travis Stair and Cesar Rodriguez, his aunt LaDonna Mills and other extended family.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00PM - 8:00PM on Monday, July 11, 2022 at Schertz Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 10:00AM on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Schertz Funeral Home.
