Cheryl Ann Wenzel

Cheryl Ann (Pelletier) Wenzel passed away suddenly on April 20, 2024 at the age of 63. She was born in Providence, Rhode Island. She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Pelletier, Sr., mother Jeanne Desautel Pelletier, sister Barbara Pelletier, and father-in-law, Bernard Wenzel.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Jeff Wenzel, and her beloved fur-babies, Muffin, Katie, Wallace, Tom, Tiger, and Maddie, her sister Paulette Ruzzo ( Richard), brother Joseph Jr. (Joan), mother-in-law Bobby Jasek, sister-in-law Karen Evans (Joey), sister-in-law Brenda Martin (Steve), niece Chelsey Chavez ( Augusto), nephews Timothy Ruzzo, Brandon Evans (Rubi) and Dayton Martin, great nephews Joseph Ruzzo, Jonathan Ruzzo and Káel A. Chavez.

Cheryl grew up in Greenville, Rhode Island and was a class of 1978 graduate of Smithfield High School, and graduated from Bryant University with a degree in accounting and business administration.

She began what became her career as a legal secretary/paralegal with Torgan and Callahan in East Greenwich and continued in San Antonio. Most recently she was employed by Werner and Augsburger, and prior to that Dykema Gossett PLLC (formerly Cox Smith). Cheryl was an active part of the San Antonio Legal Secretaries Association (SALSA) where she was the longest serving president, and was president of Texas Association of Legal Professionals (TALP) for the year 2012-2013 and served on numerous committees during her membership. Cheryl was voted Legal Professional of the Year in 2018. She was also a member of NALS, Inc., an Association for Legal Professionals, formerly National Association of Legal Secretaries, now National Association for Legal Support Professionals.

Cheryl loved coming home to Rhode Island to catch up with her old friends, visit the ocean, and eat her favorite New England foods which she introduced to Jeff on their visits.

She found happiness and relaxation through crocheting, baking for family and friends, and cuddling with her cats. Cheryl and Jeff attended festivals, concerts, sporting events and worked together volunteering in fundraising for various charities and for their church. Cheryl was also an active member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

A Rosary and Mass to celebrate her life will be held on May 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. (Rosary), and a mass immediately following at 11:30 a.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 6680 Crestway Drive, San Antonio Texas.
