Cheryl Gerlich

Cheryl Gerlich passed away February 12, 2021, at the age of 64. She was born on May 23, 1956 in Macon, Georgia to parents, Edward and Klara Mazian.

After graduating from Samuel Clemens High School in 1974, Cheryl married her husband, Leon. She worked in the banking business and for Lancer Corp. before her daughter was born. She eventually went back to work as the Principal’s secretary at her daughter’s school. Years later, she worked in Marketing.

Cheryl was a social butterfly who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She had a love for crafting and had a green thumb. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as “Gan Gan.”

Cheryl is preceded in death by her husband, Leon J. Gerlich; her parents, Edward and Klara Mazian. She is survived by her daughter, Melany Pope and husband, Daniel; grandchildren, Bryce and Kenzie.

Cheryl will be buried alongside her husband at Holy Cross Cemetery. There are no memorial plans due to the Covid situation. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Cancer Society.
