Charles Meyers

Charles Meyers, 70, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 16th at home. He was born April 2, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Daniel Woodrow and Janet Bowman (DeLong) Meyers.

“Charlie” graduated from Baltimore City College High School, Class of 1969. Following graduation, Charles enlisted in the United States Air Force at the height of the Vietnam War. Fortunately, his first assignment after basic training was to the Philippines where he met and fell in love with the beautiful Filipina woman who would become his wife. Charles and Helen celebrated 50 years of marriage last July.

In addition to singing in the church choir and assisting with the AWANAs program, Charles served as a deacon and as the Senior Care Minister at Cibolo Valley Baptist Church. Everyone that knew Charles would say that he was a man of genuine Christian faith and loved others. His quick wit and playful spirit brought smiles to all his friends and family. C.T. always welcomed the opportunity to play pinochle or to tell a humorous story.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael Charles Meyers; his granddaughter, Michaela Lynn Meyers; his brothers, Warren and Daniel; and his sister, Jane Sowder. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Tizon) Meyers; his son Daniel Warren Meyers and daughter-in-law, Danna Dyess Meyers; his grandchildren, Warren Robert Meyers and Hope Nichole Meyers; his half-brother, Ivan Wood; and numerous nephews and nieces.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, March 22, at Cibolo Valley Baptist Church, 5500 FM 1103, Cibolo, TX 78108.
