Celia Cerna Wells age 78 lost her hard-fought battle with cancer peacefully in her home on Oct 9, 2026. 

Celia was born at home on December 8, 1947, to Feliciana & Augustine Cerna of San Antonio, TX. Although raised in San Antonio Celia most enjoyed her summers at her godparent's ranch in La Vernia, there she enjoyed cornbread with chicharrónes baked in a wood burned stove. She loved the outdoors, trips to the pond, Lake Mcqueeny & Medina Lake and canyon lake.

 In 1966 Celia met SSG James Wells of the US Army, after a courtship they were married and had 7 children of their own. Celia's true passion was in nursing; she fulfilled that goal in August of 1988 at Metropolitan Methodist hospital in the Labor & Delivery unit. Celia possessed a passion for guiding new mothers in the early moments of becoming a mother. Her 30 year nursing career was filled with amazing team work, beautiful moments and wonderful friends. Celia was a great-grandmother and mother with a beautiful soul that blessed those she knew with love, compassion and empathy. 

Celia is survived by her children; Celia, Celinda, Feliciana, Samantha, Jaime, Jason & Seth, her siblings Augustine, Evangelina, Ernesto, Caesar. Including a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Eduardo Cerna and her husband James Wells
