Cathy Jo Malven

Cathy Jo Malven peacefully went to be with the Lord on September 16, 2024 at the age of 64 in San Antonio, Texas. She was a beloved mother, aunt, niece, cousin, nana, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cathy was born in Big Spring, Texas to her parents, Edwin Ray Moore and Patsy Gilbert (step-father, Ralph Gilbert) on April 6th, 1960. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patsy Gilbert, Edwin Ray Moore, Ralph Gilbert, brother CJ Harris, Gil Parr, & Charles Johnson, and former husband, Clay Malven. Survived by Aunt Jacque Straten (Aunt Lulu), sister Jeri English (Velia), daughter Shanna Atyeo (Chris Atyeo), and sons Clay Malven, and Stephen Malven (Naomi Malven). Six grandchildren, Jordan Felan, Libby Wilkins, Cade Atyeo, Colt Atyeo, Madison Malven, and Stephen Malven. Two great grandchildren, Dillan and Bradlee Atyeo. She loved being a nana to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a caregiver to many and enjoyed taking care of her patients. She loved to write poems, go thrift shopping, eat Mexican food, spend time with her family, & pick up tons of hobbies to do in her spare time! She was a firm believer in Jesus Christ. As we are saddened by her passing we know she is no longer in pain and is walking alongside Jesus where she wanted to be. A viewing service will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at the Schertz Funeral Home, 2217 FM 3009 Schertz, TX 78154, from 3 PM-7 PM.
