Carol Ryson

March 19, 1939 — May 15, 2007

Carol Scheunemann Ryson was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, on March 19, 1939. She entered into eternal rest on May 15, 2007 in San Antonio, Texas. For the past six years, she battled breast cancer and Multiple Myeloma. She is survived by her mother, Sarah Scheunemann (Plano, Texas); loving husband of 44 years, Paul Ryson of Schertz, Texas; daughters, Karen Paulk (Kenny) of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Charlyn Perkins (Jeff) of Cumming, Georgia; grandsons, Kelly Paulk and Kyle Paulk and one sister, Dianne Walth, McKinney, Texas. Carol was preceded in death by her father, Harvey Scheunemann. She grew up in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and graduated from St. Pauls Lutheran Grade School there in 1953. She graduated from Janesville Senior High School, Janesville, Wisconsin in 1957. Carol earned her bachelors degree at Wisconsin State College, Whitewater in 1961 and her Masters degree at Georgia State University in 1988. She taught high school and later joined the Civil Service and retired from the Department of Defense (DoD) in 2000 with 22 years service. Carols funeral service will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1129 Pat Booker Road, Universal City, at 11:30 AM on Friday, May 18, 2007 with visitation at the church preceding the service. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Carol may be made to Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1129 Pat Booker Rd, Universal City, Texas 78148 or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 950 Isom Road #104, San Antonio, Texas 78216.
