Brenda Lee Ellis

October 21, 1941 — December 9, 2023

Our dearly beloved Brenda Lee Ellis passed away peacefully on December 9, 2023, with her daughter by her side. Brenda was born on October 21, 1941, in Evansville Indiana. She is now reunited with her mother, Eloise, father, Benjamin and son, Timothy. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, Gerald Ellis. Her children Sarah Andrews (David) and Matthew Ellis; her grandchildren, Ashley Nerio (Eric), David Andrews III (Erica), Nick Ellis, Melissa Sanders (Mark), Kristian Ellis; her great grandchildren, Makenzie Calhoun, Brett Tripp, Hunter Nerio, Liam Moreland, Levi Andrews, Wyatt Andrews, Kailand Sanders, Atticus Sanders, Soon to be Orrin Sanders, Matthew Ellis, Cailyn Ellis; Sister, Judith Bottomley; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was a teacher for many years in Illinois before retiring and moving to Texas to be close to her family. She was a wonderful, loving, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She had a compassionate heart for not only her family but also those that were fortunate enough to cross her path. We celebrate her overwhelming joy as she now worships God in His glorious presence.

Visitation will be held Friday December 15, 2023, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Schertz Funeral Home in Schertz, Texas, with the Funeral Service held at 11:00 AM, followed by the interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking you to donate in memory of Brenda Ellis to the BrightFocus Foundation-Alzheimer’s Disease Research.    

Special thanks to the amazing, supportive, and caring staff at Autumn Winds Nursing Home and Holy Savior Hospice for their exceptional care of our beloved Brenda.
