TSGT, Billy Marcellus Roberts, U.S. Air Force Retired, age 82, of Schertz, Texas, passed away on February 17, 2021. Billy was born on September 12, 1938, to Floyd and Virginia Roberts in Battle Creek, MI. On April 1, 1976, he retired from the Air Force as a Master Instructor at the technical instructor course at Lackland, AFB, TX, completing 20 years of active service. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for the period 1969 to 1976 from the Dept. of Recruiting and Instructor training branch. He later worked for the city of Battle Creek, MI, as a city bus driver, dispatcher, and Trainer.He retired after 20 years in 1998. Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Virginia Roberts. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Margaret Ann Roberts; his children from a previous marriage: Cathy Roberts, Jeff Roberts and Sharon Roberts; Margaret’s children from a previous marriage: Pam Miller, Vicki Thompson-Alberts, Curtis Wayne Thompson, and Tracey Thompson; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Military funeral with honors will be held at Ft. Sam Houston on March 26, 2021 at 2:30 pm.
