Barbara Ann Niemietz

Barbara Ann Niemietz of Schertz, Texas, age 68, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026. She was the daughter of Daniel and Viola (Schwab) Niemietz. She attended Clemens High School and later served as the owner and director of her daycare in Schertz, Texas.

Barbara married young and spent her life caring for her family and others. She had a lifelong love for children and began caring for them through an in-home daycare in Seguin. She later expanded this work by purchasing and operating her own daycare business, which she successfully ran for more than 35 years. Through this vocation, she touched the lives of countless families with her patience, dedication, and strong work ethic. She was known for her generous heart, often opening her home to those who needed support and encouragement.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Edward, Joseph, and Daniel Niemietz; and her former husband, Billy R. Heiman.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Adam and Jackie (Schelb) Heiman, Nathan and Christelle (Rendon) Heiman, and Justin and Courtney (Cook) Heiman; her adopted daughter, Sydliz Niemietz; her brother, Ferdinand and his wife, Martha Niemietz; and her nine grandchildren: Breck, Landon, Caleb, Paisley, Beckett, Riley, Shelby, River, and Bailey Heiman.

The Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas at 12:00 PM Noon.
