Barbara Leone Cyr

November 5, 1941 — October 4, 2025

New Braunfels, Texas

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Barbara Cyr, who left us peacefully on October 4, 2025, at the age of 83, in New Braunfels, Texas. She is lovingly remembered by her three adult children: Cindy Williams and her husband Randy, Ken Cyr and his wife Annette, and Melissa Moseley and her husband Kurt, grandchildren—Katrina LeMond, Ryan Haecker, Angelique Cyr, Nicholas Cyr, and Christopher Cyr—and her three great-granddaughters: MaKenna LeMond, KourtLyn LeMond, and Xochi Haecker. She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Fenlason; her mother, Kathleen Fenlason; her two brothers, Jeff and Skip Fenlason; and her eldest son, Duane Cyr.

Born November 5, 1941, in Biddeford, Maine, Barbara and her family relocated to New Canaan, CT where she excelled in her studies and graduated high school with Honors. As an adult, Barbara returned to Maine, where she met her future husband, Fred Cyr. Together, they built a family and were blessed with four children. Their days were filled with simple joys—digging for clams, savoring fresh lobster, and spending cherished moments outdoors at their camp. In the early 1970s, Barbara and her family moved to Texas to be closer to her parents.

In Texas, Barbara worked as a bookkeeper and later operated her own small business in New Braunfels. Her life was characterized by generosity, hard work and a knack for making others laugh with her hilarious quips and sayings. Her sharp wit will be greatly missed. She was active in her community, serving as a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary in New Braunfels. Her dedication was recognized with a Certificate of Meritorious Service. Barbara also found immense joy in her hobbies, which included sewing, playing bingo, fishing, solving crossword puzzles, counted cross-stitch, making porcelain dolls, reading, and, above all, spending time with her kids and grandchildren.

The family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in Barbara Cyr’s honor. Though Barbara is no longer with us, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace. In Jesus’ holy name, we pray. Amen.
