Ashton Conques

Ashton Gallagher Conques, age 76 of San Antonio, passed away on October 19, 2007. She was born to John & Mary Cotton Gallagher on July 27, 1931 in Huntington, West Virginia. Ashton was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John M. Gallagher, Jr. She is survived by husband, Colonel Lawrence Conques, U.S. Air Force, Retired; step-children, Colonel Duane L. Conques, U.S. Air Force, Retired & wife, Lou, Schertz, Deborah A. Conques, Los Angeles, CA and Anthony L. Conques & wife, Kathy, Fairfax, Va; sister-in-law, Mary E. Gallagher, Pittsburgh, PA; thirteen step-grandchildren; twelve step great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Ashton attended Vassar and graduated from West Virginia University. She was a U.S. Civil Service employee and worked as a secretary in the office of Vice President Hubert Humphrey. Ashton loved her dressage and race horses and was a member of the Alamo Dressage Association of San Antonio and the San Antonio Junior League. Graveside Services & Interment will be held at 9:45 AM on Monday, October 22, 2007 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
