Armando Aguero was born on June 19, 1959, in San Angelo, Texas, to parents Maria C. and Presentacion Aguero.
After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Armando passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in Schertz, Texas.
Armando dedicated more than a decade of his life to public service, proudly serving his community. His most impactful years were spent with the City of Cibolo Public Works Drainage Department, where he shared his knowledge, taught valuable lessons, and mentored many men. His presence, guidance, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he is gone, his memory will live on forever through those who loved him most.
Armando is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Aguero; his children, Monica (Isaac) Centeno, Alex Aguero, Ashley (Rudy) Ybarra, Max Aguero (Anastasia Longoria), and Michael Garner (Eve Moreno); and his five cherished grandchildren, Julian, Rachel, Elena, Valentino, and Emilia.
He is also survived by his siblings: Amelia (JR) Lara, Minnie Zamora, Margie (Buddy) Rutherford, Isidro (Elva) Aguero, and Genaro (Cindy) Aguero.
Armando was preceded in death by his parents, Maria C. Aguero and Presentacion Aguero; his brothers, Alberto Aguero, Juan Ybarra, and Valentin Fuentes; and his sister, Josie Y. Castro.
Visitation will be held on January 10, 2025, from 3:00–4:00 p.m. at Schertz Funeral Home, located at 2217 FM 3009, Schertz, TX 78154, with services to follow from 4:00–5:00 p.m.
A celebration of life will be held at the Cibolo Community Center, located at 203 S. Main Street, Cibolo, TX 78108.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Cibolo Animal Services in Armando’s honor.
